About the Award

Awards sponsored by the International Society on Adult Congenital Heart Disease illustrate the dedication of our society to support original research and scientific excellence.
ISACHD is pleased to honour a certain number of individuals during our annual meetings in recognition of their outstanding research that results in important insights into the pathophysiology, etiology, treatment or outcomes in adults with congenital heart disease.

Two awards will be presented annually to authors who submit abstract to the International Symposium on Adult Congenital Heart Disease. Finalists with the highest-scoring abstracts will be invited to present their research at a dedicated session during the International Symposium on Adult Congenital Heart Disease, after which the winner will be announced by a panel of judges. An engraved plaque and free registration for the following International Symposium on Adult Congenital Heart Disease will be awarded to the winner of the ISACHD Research Award in each of the following categories: (1) Cardiac Care Professional/Non-Physician, (2) ISACHD Young Investigator.

Eligibility criteria

• Candidates for the ISACHD Cardiac Care Professional/Non-Physician Research Award are any self-identifying Cardiac Care Professional/Non-Physician, regardless of career stage, citizenship or nationaliy, including individuals in training

• Candidates for the ISACHD Young Investigator Research Award must hold an MD degree (or equivalent) and be in training or within 10 years of their first academic staff appointment

• Candidates must submit and be a presenting author of an abstract at the annual International Symposium on Adult Congenital Heart Disease

• Only one abstract per candidate will be considered

• Previous recipients of this award are eligible for consideration in subsequent years
