COVID in ACHD |
COVID-19 in Adults with Congenital Heart Disease
Introduction
This is a multi-center international registry that tracks outcomes in adults with congenital heart disease (ACHD) with COVID-19 infection. This registry was started in March 2020, and it is endorsed by both ACHA and ISACHD.
Aims
The purpose of this registry is track outcomes in ACHD patients with COVID-19 infection and identify clinical and hemodynamic factors that can be used for risk stratification and prognostication in this unique population. The goal is that the risk model that will be derived from this registry, will be used to design evidence-based interventions to improve outcome in this population
Progress
As of December 2020, 719 patients have been enrolled from multiple centers in the United States, South America, and Europe. The prevalence of COVID related ICU admission was 7.6%, mechanical ventilation was 3.8%, and death was 2.8%. The first paper from this collaborative has been published in JACC 2021: https://www.jacc.org/doi/10.1016/j.jacc.2021.02.023.
