APPROACH-IS II

APPROACH-IS II: Assessment of Patterns of Patient-Reported Outcomes in Adults with Congenital Heart Disease-International Study - II

Introduction

APPROACH-IS was a large-scale research project on patient-reported outcomes in more than 4000 adults with congenital heart disease from 15 countries in 5 continents. The project provided a lot of insights. However, new research questions arose. Therefore, APPROACH-IS II will be launched.

Aims
To address new research questions that emerged from the first project, APPROACH-IS II is having the following aims:

  1. To further explore differences in patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) and patient-reported experience measures (PREMs), by enrolling adults with CHD from low, middle, and high income countries and by investigating the role of new potential explanatory variables.
  2. To explore the healthcare needs and healthcare consumption of a subgroup of older adults with CHD, with a particular focus on the frailty phenotype.
