ISACHD Research Awards

Guidelines

The ISACHD research awards recognize innovative and outstanding research that results in important insights into the pathophysiology, etiology, treatment, or outcomes in adults with congenital heart disease.

Evaluation criteria:

Two awards will be presented annually to authors who submit abstracts to the International Symposium on Adult Congenital Heart Disease.  Finalists with the highest-scoring abstracts will be invited to present their research at a dedicated session during the International Symposium on Adult Congenital Heart Disease, after which winners selected by a panel of judges will be announced.

Prizes:

An engraved plaque and free registration for the following annual International Symposium on Adult Congenital Heart Disease will be awarded to the winner of the ISACHD Research Award in each of the following categories:

  1. ISACHD Cardiac Care Associate/Non-Physician Research Award
  2. ISACHD Young Investigator Research Award

 

Eligibility criteria:

  • Any self-identifying Cardiac Care Associate/Non-physician is eligible for an ISACHD Cardiac Care Associate Research Award, regardless of career stage, citizenship or nationality, including individuals in training.
  • Candidates for the ISACHD Young Investigator Research Award must hold an MD degree (or equivalent) and be in training or within 10 years of their first academic staff appointment.  
  • Only one abstract per candidate will be considered.
  • Previous recipients of this award are eligible for consideration in subsequent years.
  • Candidates must submit and be a presenting author of an abstract at the annual International Symposium on Adult Congenital Heart Disease.
